Drawing sounds. My foot hit the table. A persistent hum, and a squiggly sound that keeps moving. Sometimes hearing through aids and assistive devices feels like carrying a heavy weight of noise. Too much sound. Often these sounds are dull and unpleasant as the layers of sounds within sounds can be missing because the aids job is to focus on voices and are adjusted to do so. Add in tinnitus and my world becomes dominated at times by unwanted, unpleasant sounds. Drawing helps by taking the sounds and visualizing them.
