I am a semi-abstract observational landscape artist. I also teach meditation using art and positive psychology interventions, helping individuals find quietude, inner calm, resilience, hope and personal growth & transformation.
As a tinnitus adviser I run 1:1 coaching sessions in positive tinnitus management where we explore sensory awareness, meditation and habituation, and I co-lead my local Tinnitus UK registered support group.
I am based in Bisham & Marlow, Buckinghamshire where I currently offer 1:1 and small group tuition, courses and coaching. I run small group teaching in the surrounding areas of Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
The aim with my art practice is in 'Finding Quietude', which is defined as,
'a state of stillness, calmness and quiet in a person or place',
and to help others find this too.
My artwork is autobiographical exploring experiences and emotions connected to my observations of the movement of sky, sea, river and where they meet the land. I am drawn to the way there is always change, yet we see them as a constant presence; just as we are the same and yet change all the time.
I explore the connections between myself and the natural world mainly through observation, imagination and intuition, but also memory. I draw and also paint, in acrylic.
I have acquired hearing loss and tinnitus and the world is never silent. Part of my explorations are to reinvent 'silence' for myself. I also use drawing as a way to explore visually what I hear.
